Technology And Open Society

Coordinated by : Communautique

The movement for open technology and free software is growing and leading to a paradigm shift that is shaking up traditional ways of doing things. Through FabLabs, block chains, digital badges and licence sharing to name but a few, the cooperation of users and developers is opening the way to initiatives centred on the response to needs. The ties between social and technological innovations seem natural, but still need developing. How can these new technologies inspire the social economy and how can they be inspired by the social economy’s practices? This working group will try to evaluate in what way and under what conditions open technology, known as disruptive technology, can bring about new uses for the social economy. At the end of this discussion, the group will offer recommendations to the GSEF2016.
