Since March 2016, travellers visiting Canada by air have to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The eTA is easy to obtain. It is mandatory for all visitors that do not own a canadian valid visa, excepted for citizens of the United States. This also includes visitors coming from countries members of the European Union. Failing to fulfill this requirement could result in an entry refusal into the country.
