The Social Economy: A Lever for the Development of Francophone Tourism, History, Heritage and Culture in the Americas?
Coordinated by : Centre de la francophonie des Amériques
The Centre de la francophonie des Amériques invites francophone and Francophile municipalities and key stakeholders in the economic development of francophonie in the Americas to contribute to the ongoing deliberation on the ways in which the social economy can contribute to the creation of francophone businesses, minorities in many sectors, particularly in tourism. This working group will provide an opportunity to analyze the impact, advantages and benefits of social economy enterprises on francophone identity, solidarity, language and culture.
Indeed, although the Americas have more than 33 million French speakers and the language is progressing and asserting itself, francophone communities in this region face many challenges: isolation, social changes, being scattered, a lack of resources, etc. If they want to preserve their language and their culture, they must renew themselves, innovate and develop on new bases. In this context, the aim of the working group will be to evaluate the building blocks of the social and solidarity economy as a tool for the development of francophonie in the Americas and, in as much as possible, contribute to GSEF2016’s understanding of the importance of the SSE for all minorities.
Refer to the preparatory document and contributions.
The call to contributions is now closed.
