A Global Platform and A Shared Agenda for Civil Society, Social Movements and Different Levels of Governments
The overall goal of the Global Platform for the Right to the City is the recognition and inclusion of the Right to the City (R2C) framework into the Urban and Habitat Global Agendas as well as into local and national policies. This will be achieved through expanding the R2C network, consolidating a constituency and developing standard-setting through an international multi-stakeholder platform. The Platform facilitates participation of the different stakeholders in habitat policy development at national, regional and international levels. Its inclusive forum open to different sectors working on the Right to the City issues ensures: i) general and regular exchange of information, analysis and experiences; ii) capacity building of relevant actors; iii) development of common positions to influence policies and governments at different levels; iv) organization of national, regional and international networking and advocacy events.

The First Municipality of Common Good
The progressive implementation of the Economy for the Common Good approach in Miranda de Azán is bringing about a change in the municipal political model and a social transformation at community level. The main changes are observed in the application of transparency measures and social and environmental sustainability policies that foster the active participation of residents of the municipality starting with the development of values such as respect and equality, environment, social justice, transparency, democratic participation and solidarity. The Common Good Balance Sheet performed in February 2014, and every subsequent year, serves as an audit to corroborate the progress made by the City Council. This will be completed by the development of a Common Good Index or Happiness Index, agreed upon by the residents of the area in order to create an identitary feeling of a united community, with a high degree of wellbeing.

Movement building applied to city transformation
Traditional approaches to growth and regeneration have failed to benefit all parts of society, and we want to turn the tide of rising inequality using the assets of places and communities. This conference will present a new way of working that stimulates urban growth and regeneration through movement-based social innovation.
The City transformation Amplify programs powered by the Michael Young Foundation in the UK are bespoke in order to address the cultural dimension of each context, and built and designed with the people who know the place best. They are normally draw on ethnographic research led by local people, community engagement, partnership and movement building, capacity building through bespoke workshops for entrepreneurs, activists and businesses, and development of capacity and resilience in communities to discover, develop, implement, and scale community driven innovations. This conference will also present the details of Amplifier Montreal initiative.
