Santo Ángel por dentro, A Comprehensive Development Program
Santo Ángel por dentro is a comprehensive community development program, based in the Historic Center of Havana, that emerged from efforts to recover, promote and disseminate the patrimonial legacy of the Santo Ángel neighborhood, thereby bolstering the local culture and society. The project is managed as a private undertaking by a Social and Solidarity Economy actor in collaboration with the City of Havana Historian’s Office. This public-private interaction has enabled the participation in programs and activties for the economic, social, cultural and environmental development of the territory, including the from a gender perspective, thereby improving the quality of life and the welfare of the members of the community. This community plays an active role in its development through theme workshops that bring together different generations.

Technopôle Angus: A Urban Revitalization Project Piloted By a Social Economy Enterprise
The Société de développement Angus (SDA -Angus Development Company), a social economy enterprise, acquired a 2-million-square-feet polluted plot in the heart of Montréal, following the closure of Angus Shops, in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood. SDA has revitalized the sector through a mobilizing and unifying project: the Technopôle Angus. Built according to the best practices of sustainable development, the site nowadays houses businesses, institutions, and organizations that employ over 2,300 workers in several dynamic sectors, such as health care, services, information technologies, multimedia as well as the social economy.

Participatory governance for revitalization the local community based social and solidarity economy
A transformation of the socio-economic structure has been taking place in Korea since the 1990s. In response to structural changes, two kinds of alternatives have emerged. The first one focuses on community building in local towns. The second one focuses the social economy and specifically introducing a legal system to foster its development. Although community building and the social economy have both had a huge growth in numbners, both sectors have been faced with criticism in terms of their qualitative growth, for example regarding their sustainability. To overcome this situation, Gyeonggi-do, the largest local government in Korea, proposes the developpment of a system of governance for the convergence of the social economy and community building projects.

The Democracy Collaborative
The Democracy Collaborative—based in Cleveland, Ohio and Washington, DC—works to build community wealth and carry out a vision of a new economic system where shared ownership and control creates more equitable outcomes, fosters ecological sustainability, and promotes flourishing democratic and community life. Our mission is to catalyze the transformation of our economy, build community wealth and create a next system anchored in democratic ownership and based on broadening ownership and stewardship over capital; democracy at the workplace; stabilizing community and emphasizing locality; equitable and inclusive growth, and environmental, social, and institutional sustainability.
Over the past 15 years, the Collaborative has conducted a wide range of research; provided advisory services to city governments, community foundations and anchor institutions; engaged in field-building activities to expand the community wealth movement; and supported The Next System Project, which seeks to develop an alternative vision to the economic forces tearing apart U.S. communities.
